Scarr Head is a small working farm at the foot of the Coniston Mountains just 2 miles South of Coniston Village, with Static Caravans for Self Catering and separate sites for Touring Caravans and Tents.

We have 3 modern, high quality caravans situated in a large private garden. All have spacious accommodation, which includes fully equipped kitchen with gas cooker, fridge with small freezer compartment and electric kettle.

Comfortable lounge with gas fire, colour TV, and dining area. Bathrooms have shower, toilet and washbasin. All bedrooms have fitted wardrobes, cupboard space, mirrors and shaver points.

We also have a small, quiet campsite with all modern facilities in a separate area to the caravans.

Located near Coniston where there is a good range of shops, hotels and restaurants and Hawkshead, Ambleside, Bowness and Windermere are easily accessible by car.

If it's peace and quiet you are looking for we are the perfect base for exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside either on foot or even on horseback - Pony Trekking Stables are nearby

Torver has two village pubs. Both have restaurant facilities and are within 10 minutes walking distance of the farm. Coniston Lake can be reached by footpath in approximately 30 minutes and you can walk into Coniston along the lakeshore or catch the local ferry across the lake to Brantwood - home of John Ruskin.

There are also a number of spectacular walks straight out of the farmyard, such as Walna Scarr, Coniston "Old Man" and lower level walks to Beacon Tarn and Blawith Beacon. The West Cumbrian Coast holds many jewels including Muncaster Castle with its famous Owl Centre and "L'al Ratty", the narrow gauge railway which runs from Ravenglass to Eskdale.
